This periplasmic quinoprotein alcohol dehydrogenase, characterized from the bacterium Thauera butanivorans, is involved in butane degradation. It contains both pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) and heme c cofactors. cf. EC 1.1.5.11, 1-butanol dehydrogenase (quinone).
